Prince Theron comes home to find his father has remarried, and the new queen is the woman he has been seeing in his dreams. Lysandra has been dreaming of him too. What follows is an affair neither of them chose, until they are caught, exiled, and then offered an ending nobody expected: the king, who was never able to satisfy her, hands over both the wife and the crown.
The Gods Gave Me My Father’s Wife is the one period piece in the catalogue, and the mythological framing earns its keep. The shared visions make the attraction something imposed rather than decided, which gives the series a different register from everything else here.
